FIRING
We offer bisque, oxidation (up to cone 6), and reduction (cone 10) firings. Our kilns are also available to rent. If you are interested in firing with us.

We have a minimum of $105 per firing plus $50~$100 for loading fee (depending on how long it takes to load the kiln)

NON-MEMBERS /ELECTRIC KILN FEES (BISQUE / OXIDATION):
Small Round Kiln: 21.0”H x 15”W x 15”L $105 per firing
Medium Round Kiln: 21.5”H x 26”W x 26”L $150 per firing
Large Round Kiln: 25”H x 26”W x 26”L $200 per firing
Oval Kiln: 25.5”H x 41”W x 26”L $310 per firing
Front Load Kiln: 48.5”H x 26”W x 26”L $450 per firing
Individual Pieces (only for large work in the case that it will go into a shared firing)

Studio fees for glazing: we only offer studio time for those that have reserved both firings (bisque and glazing) and need to use the studio to glaze their work.
$50 per hour
$130 per day
The prices indicated above are for standard slow firing cycles. Any firing with special requirements such ramp/hold are subject to additional fees.
SSNYC Firing Service Statement of Liability:
SSNYC makes every effort to ensure a successful firing, and although the utmost care will be taken when firing the work provided, there is always a chance the piece will crack or potentially explode due to issues such as errors in craftsmanship, excessive thickness, inclusions accidentally mixed into the clay, etc,.
SSNYC will assume no responsibility for any of the above-mentioned firing or building issues that may occur. The Artist is still responsible for payment in full for firing services.
