You can add the "gift card" option for the class when you enroll.
Once you enroll in the session/class successfully, you will receive an automatic confirmation email. Please check your spam folder if you are unable to locate the email in your primary inbox.
Try Out private sessions are by appointment only. Once enrolled we will contact you to schedule your session.
We supply materials, tools, basic instruction and hands-on assistance. If you decide to keep the pieces you made, please notify our office and we will send you an invoice for the firing fees by email (you can pay online with credit card). The pieces will be available for pick up 2 weeks after the class. Any unclaimed project will be discarded after 4 weeks.
Extra Fees:
Firing Fees: 8 cents per cubic inch (the cost includes bisque firing + glazing + cone 6 firing).
Glazing /one hour session with an instructor: $70 (1-person session) $90 ( 2-person session) $110 (3-person session)
Refund Policy: Refunds or transfer requests must be made via email within two business days notice. There is a $45 processing fee for all refunds and cancelations.
If you need to reschedule a private class with less than two (2) business days notice, we’ll do our best to accommodate you, but please note the following applicable charges: $45 rescheduling fee for a one hour session.
Hand-building is an ancient pottery-making technique that involves creating forms without a pottery wheel, using the hands, fingers, and tools.
Wheel throwing is the entire activity of shaping the clay on the potter's wheel.
Studio etiquette:
Students are expected to comply with studio guidelines and maintain a clean work environment during every class. It is equally important to respect others working in the studio, maintaining a friendly but professional manner. SSNYC is committed to providing an exceptional experience for students, members, and teachers alike.
Age requirement:
Due to the nature of studio ceramics and the materials used, all classes are for adults age 21 and older
